Question from a visitor: We make fabric (knitted/woven). Can AI inspect cloth before cutting, and can it reduce the manual labour in inspection?

WarpDriven Factory AI has a fabric inspection module for exactly this step. Cloth passes continuously under a light bar and a camera array, and weaving flaws, slubs, stains and shade differences are found automatically, so faulty fabric can be picked out before cutting.

What we do and do not claim:

  • The problem it targets is that manual inspection is tiring and slow, and standards vary from person to person. The system applies the pass criteria you set to every piece, and keeps images and a record.
  • We don't promise a "zero-employee" line. The published goal is steadier quality and less rework, and you decide how to organise your inspection team.
  • Whether it fits your cloth (for example a specific knit or weave, width, speed or machine setup) depends on your fabric and defect types. Please send sample photos and your inspection standards and we will tell you after assessment whether it can be done. The assessment is free.
  • Fabric inspection can be used alone or together with garment inspection, equipment monitoring and the quality data platform, and the data can connect to your ERP / MES.
